MARIST FOOTBALL 2009
Summer lifting and conditioning begins on Monday June 15th
and continue through Friday the 24th of July. We will go on
Monday, Wednesday and Friday each week with the freshman and
sophomores starting at the track at 8:00 A.M. and the juniors
and seniors will start at 8:00 A.M. in the weight room. You will
have George Walcott directing the running and Tucker Peterson
directing the lifting. You will have an hour of running and an
hour of lifting and be done for the day at 10:00. Gear for camp
will be issued the week before camp. The seniors and juniors
will draw gear after the workout on Monday July 20th, sophomores
and freshman will get their gear after the next two workouts.
Our Marist football camp will be the last week in July (July 27–31). We will have the camp here at Marist. We will start at 3:00 P.M. with practice and conclude
each day at 9:30 P.M. Dinner will be provided in between the two
practices. We will order our spirit packs at this time in a one-time shot.
The cost is $100.00.
The following week is an OSAA mandated week off. The official
dates for this week are August 2nd -9th. Many families will
vacation at this time as there will be no conflicts from any
sport.
When we come back we will continue with our lifting and
conditioning on Monday August 10th but the times will change to
evening. We will start at 6:00 P.M. and continue to 9:00 P.M. We
will go with the same split format and have freshmen and
sophomores meet at the track at 6:00 P.M. and the juniors and
seniors in the weight room at the same time. We will meet as a
team at 8:00 P.M. on the field for an hour of football and
finish at 9:00 P.M. This will be for the two weeks before
doubles. The week of August 10th is also our youth camp. All
players will be responsible for working with our feeder program
for one night from 6 P.M.-8 P.M.
Daily Doubles will have the same format as the camp with
practices starting at 3:00 P.M. and finishing at 9:30 P.M.
Dinner may again be provided, at this time we don’t know. The
following week we will start our daily singles as the games are
here. The routine will change with film and lifting scheduled
from 2:45 P.M. – 3:45 P.M. and practice will start at 4:00 P.M.
This will help any athletes needing extra help from their
teachers as well as help congestion in the training room.
We are looking forward to a great year for Marist, preparation
makes the difference. Do all the things you need to do to become
the player and team you want to be. Any questions please email

God Bless,
